Comments: After a long and very rewarding aviation career (30 yrs)in the US Navy, retired in '03 and living on an island on
the coast of Maine with my wife of 35 years. I have 3 adult children and 3 grandchildren with one more on the way this July.
Wish I could have attended past reunions,(active duty saw to that) and don't believe I'll be coming to the 40th, but wish many

Comments: Heard about all class reunion and never did make it. Still it's nice to see what the others are doing and see
a few familiar old names. Still living in town, still driving for the courier company. Never got married or had the kids.
Guess that's why I never went gray and stayed so young. (Now if I could just regrow some hair and lose some weight...........)
Don't really remember why I was thinking of the old days and I stumbled on this website. 5 1/2 years after the reunion!
Better late than never. I always was a late bloomer. Wave if you see me driving through your neighborhood. Priority

Comments: It is amazing to think about how much time has passed since we were in high school. The memories
flooded back over me when I saw the photos of the old buildings. And for all the times I couldn't wait to get out of
those buildings, I'm surprised by the severe melancholy I'm now feeling from seeing the photos of the demolition.
Hopefully life has gotten better after high school for all of us, but certainly there were many good times back then.

Comments: I haven't been back to Minnesota since 1990 but I hear they tore down the Grass (old Sibley) buildings.
What the Hell for? Typical liberal Minnesota.....they figure that the taxpayer will always pay for new infrastructure (even if the
old is perfectly sufficient). I live in a part of the country (Houston, TX) where the taxpayer's dollars are worth something. Oh
well. Anyway, it was a trip to see this website and cruise down "Memory Lane". I can't honestly say that I miss Minnesota
but it was, nonetheless, interesting to hear from some old Sibley grads. Thanks to those responsible and, for what it's worth,
there's some good to be derived from nostalgia.

Comments: I had a great time at the reunion! Thanks to all of you who put it together. I am so disappointed that more of my class didn't come! I think there were about 6 of us! It was terrific to see Wes Kinney, Herb Bergstrom, Bob Sullivan and my good buds - Marilyn Baldwin and Lynda Ribbbentrop Jorgenson. And what a stitch to see and talk to Ron Radmer again - after 39 years! In out choir rehearsals, it was like trippin back all those years to turn around and see Ron singing just like in Acappella choir! And to see Mr. Lockrem once more - my life is fulfilled now that I could sing Beautiful Savior and Dixie once more time. And thanks, Marilyn - it was just like old times! We are still two, cool Baldies!

Comments: So - many thanks to all of you who came and participated. As the committee liaison for the alumni choir, let me offer a special, heartfelt thank you to all the choir alumni. I never did get a final count, but I suspect it was about 110 people, maybe more. The group photo will determine the group total. I know I probably forgot to acknowledge people who came from great distances, but here is my chance to say thank you to those of you who traveled from those distances to be with us. I know we had at least one choir alum from New Mexico and at least one choir alum from California. Special thanks to both of you. Mr. Lockrem's daughter, Terelle Lockrem Turnham, deserves special recognition for her contributions on the piano and with the assistance she offered as assistant director. Mr. Lockrem's current successor, Aaron Kapaun, deserves special recognition for stepping up to the plate and going to bat for the Henry Sibley choral program once again. I also know that my daughter, Molly, was not the only second generation participant in the choir. I have forgotten the names, but there was at least one other Roseville Area High School parent there who also brought her daughter along. So, a heartfelt thank you to that family for sharing the joy of Mr.Lockrem's musical teachings. Was our event a success? Beyond any doubt, yes. You all thanked me for coordinating the choir part of the event, but allow me to say that without the participation from all the choir alumni, it could not have happened. Mr. Lockrem told me, "Have faith". So I did, and all of you came and sang so beautifully, just like we always did. Having had some difficult times in my life, I can say, from experience, that music has the power to heal. Keep singing, choir. Let your voices be heard. Spread the joy. We made the world a better place Saturday evening. I will close with these words, written by Richard Bach - "Don't be dismayed at good-byes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends."

I'm still living in Columbus, Ohio and am gainfully employed as a Natuional Technical trainer for Lennox Industries (heating and air conditioning). Comments: I haven't been to any of the reunions(1971), but am hoping to make it to the all class reunion. I'm professor of languages at Central Arizona College and am scheduled to teach during the summer session, but, I think, the students will have to get along without their Spanish classes for a day or two!
I'm looking forward to being back in Minnesota...even if it's only for a couple of days. I've lived in the desert for 31 years. Mountains and cactii are nice, but I surely miss green grass, trees and lakes.Thanks for putting this event together!!!!!

Life is good, this hippie turned into a corporate computer geek and bought a farm in lovely St. Croix county. Some things never change, still protesting the war (Does it ever end?)
I've had my artwork in a few galleries, ran for office, raced Porsches and Corvettes, been published, and in general had a really good time since High School.

Comments: I'm now teaching music in a remote mountain town of southwestern New Mexico; the flute has expanded into strings-fiddle and dulcimer..... I'm happy to find out about this site and about the all class (1961 for me)reunion coming up this summer.
The photos of the old school building are the most fun. We were the first to use the new (at the time) band and choir rooms in the now torn down Grass Jr. High building!

Comments: Wow - the power of the web is tremendous! For all alumni either planning or thinking about coming to the reunion on June 18 and 19th, 2004 it is going to be a fabulous event. We are hoping this will bring many people "home" that many of us would love to talk with once again!
Bob Klein and Gar Lockrem will be in attendance and once again working their "magic".
We are in the process of planning special events with the clubs and organizations (ie baseball, football, cheerleaders etc.)
Please watch for the registration online here soon. We are counting on word of mouth and this great tool called the WEB to curtail some of our costs to put this event together. So please pass this information on to whomever may need this information.
Please remember also that soon we will be in dire need of bodies to help put the mailings and registration form together. If you are in the vacinity please let us know - we would love to visit for a moment, but surely would appreciate a helping hand.

Comments: It's good to see someone do this! Great to see some photos of the old school too. I can remember going and participating in the Christmas Concerts with Gar L. in the old gym. Great to see old friends at the last reunion ...My thanks to those who organized it and to the band (Beau Monde). Craig do you remember the other old Sibley. The one that was across the street from Maries bar. It was torn down in the mid 60's we used to break in and they would board it back up finally there got sick of it and bulldozed it. My memory of the old "D" section aside from the Amberson's office is sleeping through history in the auditorium. Could anyone be more monotone than ...what was his name Lowe??
